World MS Day 2014 in Ireland
Wednesday, May 28th is World MS Day. All over the world, people will organise events, wear orange, volunteer, work and/or attend conferences to raise awareness about an illness that so far, still cannot be cured. While 2014 is the ‘European Year of the Brain,’ this year’s World MS Day theme is ‘Access.’ Whether this means access to information, medication, support, buildings, rights or services, somewhere near you people with MS, their families and MS societies will step forward and express their need for more awareness, understanding and hope that one day, MS will be eradicated for good.

The sorry state of neurology in Ireland: one year on
"Governments past kept on living with their own kind of neurological illness, i.e. selective memory loss when these services so clearly demanded upgrades."

Change is good. So they say, anyway. I totally agree, in fact, I welcome change with open arms. Afraid of new challenges? No, not me. Because change is good.

Ireland: raining goodwill amidst floods of sorrow
Sending kind thoughts and heartfelt wishes to people in the west and south of Ireland as they are battling ferocious weather once again. Families, friends, ex-colleagues, and strangers are currently battling gale force winds, high tides and heavy rainfall and lost material goods, businesses, pets and a sense of security. In towns where walls once stood, water has taken over and it seems as if the bad weather will continue for at least another two weeks. At the moment, Cork, Waterford, Wexford and Limerick are badly affected, but meteorologists believe the east coast will also be on the path of large gale force winds and storms later this week.
