My Mum

My mum is my best friend, my backbone and my reason d’être. She’s strong despite having lost her first-born, her second husband, her dogs and much more. She’s risen like a phoenix from her ashes and every day I am more proud of her. Every day she shows that life goes on, that there is always light at the end of the tunnel and because of that, I love her so much.

When growing up, my mum gave me time and space to spread my wings and to find myself. Because of her, my ten years living in Ireland became a dream-come-true and she supports me every single day. We’ve travelled around Ireland many times and I hope to add many more trips to this and if she’s not in Ireland, I’m already looking forward to seeing her in my native country. We have hilarious chats, she’s brilliant in telling jokes and we often end up shaking our bellies of laughter. Yep… she’s a true clown, a very intelligent lady and an even stronger woman.

Some days I can say it in a poem, others I just can’t find the right tone, but my mum deserves much more than garbled words, so to thank her for her strength and love, I found 2 poems from daughter to mother.

Thank you mum, you’re the best and you will forever live in my heart…

My Angel (© Breana D. Greathouse)
My angel is a woman who walks upon the earth,
she shows me my potential and all that I am worth.
When I am sick she heals me and makes me feel all-better,
and makes sure that in times of need that we are all together.
When we get into all kinds of fusses in our life,
my angel comes out strong as a mother and a wife.
My angel has raised me to be good and kind,
and makes sure that I have a strong and intelligent mind,
my angel is my guardian.
My teacher and my friend,
but most of all my mother till the very end.

My Heart (© Sharlynn N. Manning)
She’s always be there for me

Just talking to her can make me happy
She tells me of the hard times she’s been through
In hopes that I won’t go through them too
She’s an independent woman of stature and grace
She has beautiful eyes and a lovely face
An audacious strength from deep inside
In her I know I can confide
She’s my guardian angel who’ll always be
A very special part of me
She takes pride in caring for her kin
She gives us hope and things to believe in
If I didn’t have her there for me
I wouldn’t be half the woman I turned out to be
I Love You Momimages
