    #bloggies2015 – Longlisted! Again!

And then there was that other happy thing that happened today: the longlist publication of the Blog Awards Ireland 2015 competition. I have YOU to thank for entering my blog, and for continuing to welcome new posts and ideas. Needless to say, I equally welcome the time you spend reading and commenting on my blog. Because this is my 3rd time being longlisted (and because I am my own harshest critic), my next goal is finding my name on the shortlist. That’s when I feel most comfortable, a little bit of a challenge, you, my laptop, that urge and the ever-present need to champion patient rights and raise public awareness on what life with an invisible illness is like. Each day, in fact, I wish I could write more. I…

    2015: Year of the Pen

We’re a few days into the New Year already, and I’m looking forward to sitting down in Starbucks Ireland once again. Parker pen, a large latte and carrot cake to take me through the thoughts in my mind while a new notebook waits for thoughts that sound like words; with emotions that sound like sentences or paragraphs. Life’s the story; my family, friends & MS gang, my inspiration. This year will mark my fourth year of blogging, although mentally blog ‘posts’ are now called ‘articles’ and blogging turned into ‘writing’. No, it’s not a matter of being arrogant, being a social climber, or being above ‘mere’ blogging. Writing simply became a lot more than blogging. Writing became a lifestyle.

My world however also consists of simple, pure stillness. But even when the world is spinning quietly, stillness is waiting to explode into forward motion or motion is waiting to return to sheer tranquility. Living in Ireland for over ten years now, my world has become one of airports, packing bags and looking forward to step onto that Aer Lingus plane once again. My love for movement is therefore always represented by airplanes, and nothing excites me more than taking off and landing. Flying to and from Ireland is a joy that cannot be replaced.
